The Oval LED Bathroom Mirror combines the soft lines of an oval with LED backlighting. The mirror is 5mm copper-free silver glass. The long axis and short axis ratio can be customized to your requirements. The LED strip follows the oval contour. When the light is on, the oval outline is traced in light. The effect is more designed than a regular oval mirror. The oval has no sharp corners. It is especially good for homes with children. It also looks more elegant than round or square mirrors. Many customers put oval LED mirrors in master bathrooms or high-end hotel suites.
Grinding an oval edge is much harder than grinding a round edge. A circle has a constant curve. The grinder goes around once and it is done. An oval has a changing curve. The curvature is tight at the apexes. It is loose at the ends. Our irregular edging machine uses contour-following technology. Sensors detect the mirror contour in real time. They adjust the grinding wheel angle automatically. This keeps the edge width consistent across the whole oval. We spent nearly six months tuning this process before we got it stable.
Installing the LED strip on an oval also requires more care than on a circle. The oval has two areas where the curve changes most sharply (the apexes). The strip must bend at the sharpest angle there. If you bend a standard strip sharply, the solder joints can break or the LEDs can detach. Our approach is "gradual transition." We start the bend about 10cm before the apex. The strip bends slowly over that distance. It does not make a sharp bend at the apex. This takes more work. But the strip experiences less stress. It lasts longer.
There is no fixed standard for oval ratios. But based on thousands of customer orders, we found the most pleasing ratios. For a vertical oval, long axis to short axis is about 1.5:1. For a horizontal oval, it is about 1.6:1. At these ratios, the oval looks full and elongated. Not too fat. Not too skinny. If you need a special ratio like 2:1, we can do it. But the grinding and strip installation will be harder. During consultation, we will suggest a ratio based on your wall dimensions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can the oval LED mirror be used horizontally or vertically?
A: Yes. The hanging plate positions change. Just tell us horizontal or vertical when you order.
Q: Does an oval LED mirror cost more than a round one?
A: Oval processing is harder, so the cost is slightly higher. But the difference is small.
Q: Does adding blast-proof film affect the LED strip installation?
A: No. The film goes on the very back. The strip sits outside the film. They do not interfere.
